One can work hard and get lost in the daily grind… But never forget the beautiful things: your wife and children. As the saying goes — give women flowers!
My wife requested a flower bed. Not just any old bed, but a multi-story one. Challenge accepted! I checked the inventory on the Bauhof website and headed over. I eventually tracked down these pallet collars in the far corners of the warehouse, but only with the help of the staff. I had to ask twice, as not all employees knew where they were hidden. A random customer would definitely miss them, so make sure to ask!
Half an hour later, it was done. I laid down geotextile, lined the inside with old laminate underlay (a great trick to protect the wood), and stacked the boxes. Keep in mind that the volume is quite large and needs filling. I had a big bag of peat, but I also used my own compost that’s been brewing in the bio-bin for three summers. Finally, I topped it off with two bags of black soil.
My wife carefully planted the flowers we bought at the same store. Promise kept, wife is happy. Sometimes, it doesn’t take much to create something beautiful…
