Theory is behind us, time for practice. The installation process itself brought a few surprises that you definitely want to know about in advance:
- Size matters. The water connection here is standard — 1/2 inch. But keep in mind: the tap does not come with flexible hoses. So if you are planning a “quick install” in one evening, don’t forget to buy them separately, otherwise, you’ll have to drop everything and rush to the hardware store again.
- Aesthetics vs. Standards. This tap is very convenient because the power cable can be routed in two ways. If the socket is on the backsplash — run it above the countertop. If you want a clean look — hide it under the sink. Naturally, I chose the aesthetic route with hidden wiring, and that’s where a surprise was waiting for me: the heavy-duty molded plug just refused to fit through the standard sink hole for the faucet.
- DIY mode, or A bit of brute-force modification. Cutting off the plug was out of the question (goodbye warranty and safety), so I had to improvise. I grabbed a metal-cutting tool and literally “nibbled away” at the edges of the sink hole until the plug finally popped through.
But the result was totally worth it! The tap fits like a glove and looks incredibly elegant, modern, and beautiful. No messy wires in sight.
